Job Summary
The Education Associate enhances the learning experiences of the NASCAR Hall of Fame guests by preparing teaching spaces, supplies, and materials and facilitates the delivery of educational activities either on-site at the NASCAR Hall of Fame or virtually. The Education Associate facilitates hands-on activities with families and guests during special events and public programs and supports facilitating exploration of the museum for on-site visits. Adaptability to changing work conditions and daily schedules including change of duties, change of group facilitation or other factors impacted by visiting groups. Applicants should have prior experience providing hands-on or experiential learning experiences, especially for school-age students.
Job Responsibilities
A. Essential Job Duties
- Facilitate and support lessons and activities with school groups and youth groups (in person, off-site, or virtually).
- Facilitate public programs for general visitors and families.
- Prepare materials and supplies for groups, activities, and programs.
- Support with inventory of supplies and materials.
- Supporting Exhibits, Operations or other departments within NASCAR Hall of Fame
- May perform other duties as required.
- Consistently deliver the best in customer service. Model and be accountable, ensuring the customers are always put first by living the CRVA Service Philosophy to deliver memorable customer experiences
- Champion CRVA’s mission, vision, and core values and comply with organizations policies and procedures.
Scope of Responsibility
- Work with students in school group settings of 30 – 40 or as large as 300 simultaneously.
- Work in a virtual environment with students in groups of 25 – 49 at one time
- Work with adults and families in group settings from 25 – 300 individuals
Supervisory Responsibility
- There is no supervisory responsibility
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Direct Instruction or other teaching experience
- Ability to effectively work in a digital environment to present programs and instructions
- High energy and organized and enjoy working with and engaging children
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional materials and background information.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups: clients, customers, managers, and the general public.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree or pursuing a college degree in a science field or education is preferred or at least 3 years’ experience working with children (ages 3-18)
- Must have at least 3 years of prior experience working in an educational setting with students pre-k to grade 12 (including a museum, after-school, or youth program).
- Prior success in the delivery of quality customer service.
- Experience working with adults as a facilitator to meet specific objectives.
- Must be creative and resourceful in solving problems.
- Strong understanding of science concepts that are relevant to exhibitions.
- Must enjoy working with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Additional knowledge of NASCAR and motorsports are highly desired.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 6 hours at a time.
- Must be comfortable with and able to climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to push carts up ramps (weight of 40 -50 lbs).
- Must be able to lift 35-40 lbs.
Work Environment
- Ability to work with small groups (30-40) to large groups of over 300 individuals.
- The work environment is high paced and intense for 2-5 hours at a time.
- Requires the need to be able to adapt to various age groups of students and adults quickly.
- Ability to flexible work schedule and varying hours; including weekends and evening; at least two weekend days a month and two – four evenings a month

- There is no travel required.
