Job Description
Harlan County Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with experience in X-ray and CT imaging to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in patient diagnosis and care by performing high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and supporting our physicians with accurate, timely results.
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures—including X-ray and CT—to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and a compassionate approach to patient care, while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, including X-ray and CT scans, in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper positioning for high-quality diagnostic images.
- Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Prepare and educate patients for imaging procedures, addressing questions and concerns.
- Accurately document all procedures and maintain records in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
- Participate in on-call rotations, responding to emergency imaging needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of radiology supplies.

Requirements:Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Previous experience in CT and general radiology preferred.
Certifications and Licensure:
- ARRT certification required.
- Nebraska Radiologic Technologist license required.
- CT certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
- BLS certification (within 30 days of hire).
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational strength.
- Proficiency with imaging equipment and EHR systems.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Perform duties in emergent situations requiring quick, sound decision-making.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff in a fast-paced environment.
