About the Department

This position collaborates with two other Guest Services Coordinators who are responsible for planning, developing, managing and coordinating operations at the Welcome Desk, COREkids, and CORE Facility Rentals at the C.O.R.E. (Center of Recreational Excellence). Some responsibilities are shared amount the three positions while other responsibilities are the sole responsibility of one Coordinator.

Position Duties
  • Manages the facility in the absence of the CORE Facility Director.  

  • Manages, schedules, trains and evaluates division operations, staff and volunteers.  

  • Supervises staff which includes prioritizing and assigning work; assists with performance evaluations; ensures staff is trained; ensures employees understand and follow policies and procedures; maintains a healthy and safe working environment; and makes hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.   

  • Assists with the development of new recruitment strategies and initiatives.  

  • Coordinates membership sales, member satisfaction, customer service, merchandise store inventory, facility rentals, facility set-up and tours.   

  • Oversees correct data entry of all memberships and programs/services.  Assists in the administration and recording of monthly statistical reports.  Assists in the administration and coordination of membership specific special events, as well as, corporate and discounted membership programs, and facility rental.  

  • Assists with member recruitment and retention.

  • Responsible for the daily opening and closing of the facility. 

  • This position will accurately prepare daily cash deposits with the corresponding reports. 

  • Daily deposit reports will then be sent to the Office Specialist in a timely manner and notify of any variances.  

  • Responsible for end of shift reconciliations and cash deposits as it relates to all divisions in the CORE.  

  • Monitors division budget including revenue and expenditure projections plus supply and equipment needs.  

  • Assists the Director in budget preparation.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, Recreation Administration or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least three (3) years of experience in a customer focused supervisory position. Experience in communications and information technology is preferred.  


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Applicant must be dependable.

  • Ability to utilize computer skills including proficiencies in word processing and basic spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships up and down the chain of command.
  • Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to deal with people under stressful and demanding situations.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
  •  Valid state issued driver's license.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required.
  • American Red Cross Advanced Child Care Certification required.

The employee may be required to stand up to a four (4) hour period of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in other part of the facility.
