Plant Operations-Painter
Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for routine & specialized painting and associated tasks to maintain the
condition and appearance of buildings.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Paints, stains, varnishes, etc. walls, floors, doors, windows, frames, moldings,
masonry, and other interior & exterior building fixtures
2. Prepares gypsum board for painting and the application of vinyl wallcoverings
3. Surveys the building for fixtures requiring painting and restores such items to their
proper appearance
4. Repairs damage to walls, woodwork, etc.
5. Paints parking lot striping
6. Maintains paint color schedules
7. Submits requests for maintaining a sufficient level of basic painting supplies for the
timely completion of routine tasks and special projects
8. Maintains equipment in good work ordering
9. Keeps work areas clean, orderly, and safe
10. Maintains established department policies, procedures, and quality standards
11. Appropriately informs departmental management of any problems relating to their
work or with any other areas
12. Performs other duties as required or assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent
Experience: Three (3) years of proven relevant painting experience at the Journeyman
level preferred, preferably in the healthcare or related industry
Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort (lift and carry up to 50 pounds)
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing and walking
Pushes and pulls and/or moves and lifts heavy equipment and
supplies
Manual dexterity and mobility
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
