Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
As the Senior Accountant, you will support the Controller and accounting leadership team in producing accurate and timely financial reports. You'll be instrumental in month-end and year-end close processes while driving efficiency and continuous improvement within the accounting function.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Support job cost accounting and construction-related reporting processes

Analyze variances, accruals, and trends to provide actionable insights to management

Ensure compliance with GAAP and strengthen internal control procedures

Collaborate with operations to align project activity with financial reporting

Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements

Contribute to process improvements and ERP system initiatives
Requirements for the Senior Accountant
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred)

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures

Experience with construction, job cost accounting, or project-based accounting (strongly preferred)

ERP system proficiency (e.g., SAGE Intacct, Viewpoint, or similar) and strong Excel skills

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities

High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
