Position Overview

We are seeking a precise and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage daily financial operations. This role offers the flexibility of remote work but requires a consistent presence for a brief 1 to 2-hour in-person meeting weekly in downtown Morgantown/High St. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and has strong data management skills, particularly with spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, including:

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Generating customer invoices and accurately entering vendor bills.
  • Transaction Management: Categorizing and reconciling all banking and credit card transactions within QuickBooks Online.
  • Data Entry & Tracking (Crucial): Maintaining and utilizing complex spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets) for detailed financial tracking and analysis. Strong command of spreadsheet functions is essential for this role.
  • Reporting: Preparing both ad hoc reports as requested and comprehensive monthly financial reports (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet, Aging reports).
  • In-Person Requirement: Attending one required 1-2 hour weekly meeting for necessary collaboration, review, and documentation.

Schedule and Availability

This is a flexible part-time position (estimated 15-20 hours per week).

  • Work Window: Work hours are flexible but you must be available Monday through Friday.
  • Required Responsiveness: Late evening work is not expected, but most requests will come during West Coast business hours. Requests before 5:30pm East Coast time should be answered the same day and requests after 5:30pm should receive a response the next business morning.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Bookkeeping or accounting support role.
  • Amazing attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks Online 2+years.
  • Strong Excel/Google sheets skills 2+years.
