Position OverviewThe primary objective of this role is to conduct a range of imaging procedures, such as CT scans and X-rays, at a technical level that does not necessitate constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions- Provide technical support and patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in addressing the needs of patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment, including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
- Conduct all imaging examinations in line with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, ensuring that the physician on duty is informed of the results.
- Carry out basic clinical procedures under the supervision of the physician and/or nurse on duty.
- Keep all necessary documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab tests according to established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Ensure an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment following established protocols.
- Conduct Quality Control as mandated by the laboratory.
- Participate in Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis as required by the facility.
- Maintain records of all analytical activities for a minimum of two years.
- Engage in all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this role and document these for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.
- Perform duties as an ER Technician when necessary.
- Ensure an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Conduct routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment as per established protocols.
- Travel to various facility locations as required.
- Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored or mandated gatherings as necessary.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Radiology is preferred.
- Certification as a medical radiologic technologist as mandated by the state of practice is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography is required.
- Registration with the ARRT in computed tomography is preferred.
- CT certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire (specific to Pennsylvania market).
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- 2+ years of experience in radiologic/imaging is preferred.
- 1+ years of CT experience is preferred.
- 1+ years of emergency room experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, including manufacturer’s hardware/software and PACS.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
