Communications and Engagement Manager

Do you have a passion for impactful communication and community engagement? Are you a strategic storyteller who thrives on building relationships and shaping public narratives? We're looking for a Communications and Engagement Manager to lead strategic outreach efforts and support the mission and goals of the County Board.

In this dynamic role, you'll be the driving force behind the County's internal and external messaging, digital presence, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.

What You'll Do

As Communications and Engagement Manager, you will:

• Develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned with County Board goals.
• Manage media relations, including writing press releases and serving as a liaison to journalists.
• Lead and execute social media strategies and manage content across platforms.
• Create compelling content for various formats-web, email, brochures, presentations, and more.
• Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
• Build strong relationships with community stakeholders, business owners, and residents.
• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging best practices in government communications.
• Provide communications support to the County Administrator and Administration Department.

Who You Are

You're a creative, strategic communicator with:

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency in managing social media platforms and content strategy
• Experience creating varied content (web, print, presentations, etc.)
• Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills
• A working knowledge of public-sector communications and community engagement strategies is a plus.

• Competitive salary range: $50,000-$70,000, based on experience
