Position Overview – We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sourcing Manager to join our Production Control team. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier partnerships.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to meet the organization’s production goals and objectives.
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends to ensure a competitive advantage in sourcing.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their capabilities, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and quality standards.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze costs, market trends, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising products or service quality.
  • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about geopolitical, economic, and industry-specific factors that may impact the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with team, including operations, finance, and quality, to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure sourcing processes support organizational needs.

Additional Job Functions

  • Participate in company problem resolution teams.
  • Participate in company Kaizen events.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • BS in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Computer knowledge, specifically within MS Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
  • APICS Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and accept responsibility.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in data analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Demands

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
  • This position requires frequent communication with vendors, customers, and internal staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
