American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring interventional cardiac cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Position is located in the Cath Lab of a 562-bed acute care hospital designated as both a Level I Trauma Center and a Magnet facility
- 5-room unit with an average daily census of 25
- Interventional cardiac cath lab patient population requiring advanced procedural care
- Required procedures include circulating, diagnostic catheterizations (adult), left and right heart catheterization, and pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Required medication experience includes procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (0630–1900)
- Candidates will work 2–3 weekends per contract
- On-call is required as needed
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with procedural sedation monitoring required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
- RTO requests of 5 days or fewer are generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
- Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
