Packaging Machine Operator
Job SummaryThe Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently to maximize hands-on production and the shipping of packaged materials. This role involves operating machinery, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring all production meets quality standards.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSafetyAttend monthly safety meetings.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Complete all required safety training and testing with satisfactory results.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently to produce packaged materials.
Communicate and coordinate with the shift supervisor to complete assigned tasks.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining the work area.
Place empty bags on fill tubes, seal, pack into master packs, and hand palletize materials (up to 40 lbs.).
Perform outdoor duties such as sweeping, picking up debris, watering plants, shoveling snow, and deicing walkways as required.
Maintain and verify compliance with all current quality assurance procedures.
Ensure production standards and quality expectations are consistently met.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical capability to bend, squat, and stoop.
Previous experience operating mobile equipment and/or forklifts preferred.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
Ability to respond quickly to sounds and safety cues.
Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
Ability to recognize and respond to potential hazards.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to access work areas.
Must properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment.
Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
