Key Job Details – Georgia Nursing Jobs

• Location: Americus, GA 31719 (Southwest Georgia)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical Surgical Unit (36 beds)
• Assignment Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Scrub Color: White tops, hunter green pants
• Charting System: MEDITECH 6.1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Georgia or compact state (required for Georgia nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospital Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) units
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (strict radius rule for travel nursing jobs)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic and bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including hospitalists, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using MEDITECH
• Participate in floor-specific orientation (3 shifts)
• Adhere to unit ratios: RN/LPN (6:1), CNA (12:1)
• Deliver compassionate patient care while managing assignments efficiently
• Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
