Key Responsibilities of the Property Accountant
- 
    Perform full-cycle property accounting for assigned assets, including monthly close and reconciliations 
- 
    Manage fund-level accounting including property taxes, insurance, and debt service 
- 
    Handle escrow accounts related to insurance, taxes, and capital improvements 
- 
    Prepare monthly financial statements, cash forecasts, and investor reporting packages 
- 
    Track term loans, monitor cost of goods sold, and assist with variance analysis 
- 
    Process monthly sales and use tax filings 
- 
    Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting standards 
- 
    Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and asset management teams 
Qualifications of the Property Accountant
Required:
- 
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
- 
    1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally within property management or real estate 
- 
    Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) 
- 
    Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking 
- 
    Solid understanding of GAAP 
Preferred:
- 
    Experience in multi-entity or fund-based accounting environments 
- 
    Familiarity with real estate tax, insurance, and escrow processes 
- 
    Excellent communication and time management skills
