American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a night shift travel contract at a 5-time Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and both MO and KS RN licenses in hand.

- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a 456-bed tertiary care, Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital \n
- Patient population includes pulmonary, wound care, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, and general renal diagnoses \n
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional flex to 1:6 based on unit needs \n
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) \n
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (any combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) \n
- Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities \n
- Charge RN assignments may be required as needed \n
- Charting via Epic \n
- Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, heparin and PCA protocols, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), non-invasive airway management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions \n
- Preferred skills include management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, feeding tube care, renal failure management, CVA care, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and tracheostomy management \n
- No on-call requirements \n

- Active RN license for both Missouri (or compact) and Kansas required in hand at time of consideration — unwillingness to hold both licenses may result in cancellation \n
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/telemetry specialty experience required \n
- At least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months, with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year \n
- Epic EMR experience \n
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor-level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year \n
- SSN required for consideration \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted \n

- Holiday shift coverage required as assigned by the unit \n
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract, with 1 RTO request allowed \n
- Orientation modules averaging 10–15 hours are required as part of compliance and must be completed prior to the start date \n
- Navy scrubs required \n

- Travel partners are not accepted for this position \n
