SUMMARY
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Program Manager with the execution of one or more simultaneous projects in accordance with a valid, executed contract, per company policies and procedures and work instructions. The employee will lead a collaborative team and will contribute to various projects under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage Engineering projects and team members; Develop and implement project plans to manage cost, schedule, and resources to satisfy project goals, milestones, cost targets, and product quality.
- Assist the Lead Engineer in assignment delegations to ensure adequate resources throughout the project.
- Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the assigned area of responsibility by performing the following duties:
- Provide technical direction to the project team to facilitate timely task completion.
- Approve all project documentation. Review documents, drawings, and ECO’s for technical accuracy.
- Establish accountability plans with each IPT member ensure timely completion.
- Integrate technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Document results in drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data.
- Facilitate communication and interaction amongst supporting organization functional representatives.
- Define, track, and communicate key project metrics and milestones to ECODA leadership through department project review meetings.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, elevating critical business decisions to appropriate management.
- Foster alignment, accountability, and collaboration across the IPT team comprised of internal cross-functional team members, contracted resources and subject matter experts.
- Support the Program Manager with the execution of one or more simultaneous projects in accordance with a valid, executed contract.
- Assist the Program Manager with the preparation and conduction of the Project Kick-Off Meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR and FDR.
- Assist the Program Manager to develop and implement recovery plans for schedule and budget deviations to the project plan.
- Coordinate with necessary ECODA team memebrs to ensure compliance is met for the applicable regulatory requirements of the project.
- Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations, as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Engineering.

- Schedule and coordinate ECODA IPT alignment meetings as needed to ensure project deliverables are accomplished within program schedule and budgeted hours.
- Participate in Project Meetings as required by the Project SOW. Review and verify project estimates monthly (so-called project cost reports).
- Ensure that design elements conform to the agreed upon written customer requirements as defined by the SOW and are developed and delivered to meet the project schedule, organization’s quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations, review, and approval of vendor specifications and drawings.
- Prepare Advance Equipment Material requests for long-lead materials.
- Provide feedback regarding employee performance to the functional managers for evaluation.
- Recommend new processes where needed for quality improvement, cost reduction and on-time delivery.
- Document all project action items and ensure they are completed to
- Validate all project requirements are being met, by creating and maintaining a project compliance matrix.
- Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship for the team.
- Prioritize and assign tasks; examine work output for completeness, process conformance and timeliness.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in Aerospace or related field.
- 1+ years project engineering experience required.
- Experience with aircraft systems modifications is required.
- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
- Ability to build positive relationships and to maintain cross-functional partnerships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read, write and understand the English language.
- Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex contracts, legal documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals.
