Buyer/Planner - Now Hiring

Buyer/Planner Location: Lawrence, MA Full-Time | Onsite │ Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm Pay Rate: $40-$50/hr. DOE FootBridge is supporting a key manufacturing partner in Lawrence, MA in their search for a Buyer/Planner to help manage materials and inventory for a small, hands-on production facility. Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Material Planning Plan and procure materials including fabricated parts, electrical components, and related assemblies. Review production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements. Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and expedite as needed. Monitor inventory to balance availability with cost efficiency. Vendor & Supplier Management Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost control, and on-time delivery. Identify and evaluate new suppliers; negotiate terms to support production goals. Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with production supervisors and leads to understand material usage and schedule changes. Support engineering changes and new product launches through timely sourcing. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receiving, inventory control, and material flow. Systems & Reporting Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP or inventory management systems. Track and report on purchasing metrics such as on-time delivery, purchase price variance, and inventory turnover. Provide reporting to support strategic procurement and planning decisions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2–5 years of experience in a Buyer/Planner role within manufacturing. Familiarity with sourcing industrial, mechanical, or electrical components. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills: Exposure to lean manufacturing or Kanban systems. Professional certifications (APICS/ASCM, ISM, etc.) a plus. Hands-on approach and ability to work closely with production teams in a smaller plant setting.
