Job Description\nAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Admit/Discharge Unit role requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and proficiency with Epic charting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n- Work in the Advance Care Med/Surg Admit/Discharge Unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes acute and chronic cases managed through both admissions and discharges
- Day shifts running from 7:00am to 7:30pm, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Utilizes Epic EMR for all charting and documentation
- Level 1 Trauma care environment
- Responsibilities include rapid assessment, care planning, and management for both acute and chronic med/surg patients
- Perform bedside lab testing and specimen collection in compliance with unit policies
- Adapts patient education based on individual needs using SVI patient education resources
- Must follow hospital policies to ensure patient safety and comply with national patient safety goals
- Participation in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives is expected
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Requested time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract
- Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment
- Returning travelers are eligible only if they have not worked at this facility in the past 6 months following one year of assignment
- Active IL RN license, temporary license accepted
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least one year of recent and relevant RN experience
- Documented experience with Epic EMR
- Prior experience working in a Level 1 Trauma setting
- College diploma in Nursing
