Job Title: Maintenance Apprentice Department: Facilities Reports To: Maintenance Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
Cirona Labs is seeking a motivated Maintenance Apprentice to support day-to-day equipment and facility maintenance within our fast-paced cannabis manufacturing environment. This role is perfect for someone excited to learn technical skills, solve problems with their hands, and grow into a long-term career within industrial maintenance.
Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, the apprentice will assist with equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility support. This role includes a clear development path leading to Maintenance Technician → Maintenance Lead → Maintenance Supervisor, based on learning progress, performance, and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance and basic repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems across production equipment (packaging lines, utilities, HVAC, etc.)
- Support equipment changeovers, calibrations, and start-up/shutdown processes
- Learn to troubleshoot common mechanical and equipment issues with guidance
- Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) activities and accurately document work in CMMS/maintenance logs
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance shop, tools, and parts inventory
- Follow all safety guidelines, GMP standards, and company policies
- Communicate clearly with technicians and production staff to minimize downtime
- Assist with general building upkeep including lighting, plumbing, and minor repairs
- Engage in ongoing required training to develop technical skills and equipment knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment repair/trade skills
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to follow directions
- Basic experience using hand and power tools safely
- Strong teamwork attitude with willingness to learn in a structured environment
- Flexible availability including occasional weekends or extended hours as needed
