Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist with at least 2 years of OB scanning experience to work in an OB/GYN clinic setting.
Responsibilities- Clinic-based ultrasound role in an OB/GYN practice
- Only OB scans are performed with no GYN cases
- Average of 8 to 10 scans per day
- Procedures include intracavity scans, anatomy scans for multiples, growth and viability scans, fetal heart imaging, cervical length assessments, placental abnormality scans, 3D/4D and video scans, and saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS) preferred
- All high-risk scans are referred to MFM providers
- Ultrasound images are read by providers rather than radiologists; direct provider communication required after exam
- Utilizes Apollo Cannon, GE Evolution for 3D/4D, and Trophon sterilization machine; experience with this equipment is preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred and PACS: Change Healthcare/McKesson experience preferred
- Day shifts, Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, clinic closes at 2 PM on Fridays
- No weekends, on-call, or holiday coverage required
- Collaborative team including Patient Service Representatives, a second ultrasound technologist, RNs, providers (6 MDs, 4 NPs), and management
- Provider and staff support available; solo coverage only if other technologist is absent
- Orientation provided in clinic
- Solid color scrubs required; OB theme shirts are permitted; scrubs may not feature graphics or designs
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
- Active ARDMS (OB/GYN) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OB ultrasound scanning experience required
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Proficiency and comfort with a full range of OB ultrasound procedures including hour-long scans and urgent same-day add-ons
- Ability to communicate directly with providers post-exam
- Experience with Apollo Cannon, GE Evolution, and Trophon machine preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
