Detailer/Draftsman

Steven Steel Supply (a division of Midway Structural Pipe and Supply, Inc.) is an established company with over 60 years of experience. We provide fabricated steel projects to numerous industries, including: roadway construction, bridges, multipurpose walkways, high speed rail, decorative fencing and Pedestrian railing.

Steven Steel is currently looking for a dynamic individual to add to its existing Columbus, OH facility. This individual needs a background in detailing metal fabrication projects. This position has a competitive salary and benefits within a dynamic work environment in a business that is experiencing growth. This position is a salaried full-time position.

Required Skills:

·         Previous and proven experience in steel detailing and CAD drawing

·         Experience in construction projects and/or highway projects would be considered as a significant plus

·         Previous experience with a road or highway General Contractor would be considered a significant plus

·         Experience with metals fabrication, or the steel industry, would be considered a plus

·         High School or College Degree

·         Time management skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills

·         Management experience

·         Microsoft Office computer skills – Strong Excel user

·         CAD experience

·         Knowledge of SDS2, or other steel software, would be considered a significant plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Detailing for fabricated steel projects

·         Interpret design documents from architects and engineers

·         Collaborate with project managers, engineers, team members to produce 3D models, erection and fabrication drawings.

·         Ability to review bid documents and drawings

·         Ability to do project material and labor take-offs
