We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer professional to join our team. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for machining, tooling, and secondary operations while working closely with our sales and engineering departments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing—preferably within machining—and a detail-oriented, customer-focused approach to technical support and process improvement.

Duties:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates including cycle times, tooling amortization, materials, and logistics.

  • Partner with sales and engineering teams to validate assumptions, ensure manufacturability, and deliver competitive quotations.

  • Prepare and present formal quotation packages to internal teams and customers.

  • Support tooling launches, PPAPs, and customer communication in coordination with project and program managers.

  • Act as a technical liaison between Sales, Engineering, and Operations.

  • Conduct time studies and implement workflow optimization projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Apply lean manufacturing and industrial engineering methodologies to improve quoting accuracy and cost competitiveness.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure continuous improvement and feedback between estimating and production.

Requirements:

  • 3–7+ years of experience in machining cost estimating, quoting, or industrial/lean engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of machining processes; experience in casting environments a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with Excel, quoting tools, and ERP/MRP systems; familiarity with project management software preferred.

  • Exposure to customer-facing roles or sales engineering support.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred (equivalent experience considered).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
