Job Description
We are looking for a skilled SMT machine operator to join our production team! This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented and technically skilled, with experience running Surface Mount Technology equipment. You will help assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Plymouth, MN
Wage: Up to $24/hr for a great candidate
Hours: 6:30 am - 4 pm Monday - Thursday, 7 am-11 am, Friday

Duties of the SMT machine operator:
Set up and operate SMT equipment such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens (e.g., Yamaha, Fuji, Juki, Panasonic, Mydata, etc.).
Load and verify SMT feeders, components, and programs based on the bill of materials and job setup sheets.
Perform first-article inspections to confirm component placement and solder paste accuracy.
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration.
Identify and resolve minor equipment or process issues to prevent downtime.
Work closely with Quality Control to ensure compliance with IPC and company standards.
Record production data, defects, and downtime in accordance with established procedures.
Adhere to ESD, safety, and cleanliness requirements in all work areas.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, quality, and cycle time.
Requirements of the SMT machine operator:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience operating SMT or electronics assembly equipment
- Ability to read assembly drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
- Familiarity with ESD procedures and IPC standards
- Experience with AOI or reflow oven profiling
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent
