Active Directory / Entra ID Engineer (Staff Augmentation)

Position: Active Directory / Entra ID Engineer (Staff Augmentation) Location: McKinney, TX (Local consultants only) Duration: Long Term Description :- We're looking for a hands-on AD/Entra ID Engineer who can hit the ground running on day one. The candidate should be capable of installing and configuring a new AD forest/domain and providing expert-level (L3) support across Active Directory and Entra ID environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and manage AD forests, domains, sites, and trusts. Configure and maintain FSMO roles, DFS, and domain replication. Administer AD Certificate Services, DNS, DHCP, and OU structures. Implement and enforce Group Policies (GPOs) aligned with security baselines. Manage AD groups, security permissions, and delegation of access. Perform AD backups, restores (authoritative/non-authoritative), and disaster recovery. Troubleshoot login/authentication issues involving LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM, etc. Configure and maintain RBAC, MFA, and privileged access management. Conduct AD audits, health checks, and remediation activities. Manage AD password policies and fine-grain password policies. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, monitoring, and reporting. Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain Entra ID integrations and Azure AD Connect. Provide 3rd level support for AD and Entra ID environments. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience installing and configuring AD forests/domains from scratch. Strong expertise in Windows Server environments. Hands-on experience with Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, MFA, and identity integrations. Deep understanding of GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services. Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and reporting. Solid grasp of authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP). Experience with AD/Entra ID health checks, audits, and remediation. Ability to troubleshoot complex AD replication and sync issues. Familiarity with enterprise security standards and baseline policies. Nice to Have Exposure to hybrid identity solutions.
