Wound Care, RN
Critical Access Hospital
Wound care is more than just healing of a physical wound; it also addresses the psychological condition of the patient. Wound care is multidisciplinary collaboration and works closely with the physicians as well as all the disciplines to include PT, OT, CNA's, Nurses and family when needed. As a treatment/wound nurse, you will be responsible for performing resident /patient skin assessments, obtaining treatment orders, administering treatments as ordered, and documenting appropriately to help ensure that resident/patient skin integrity is improved and/or maintained. Provides support for all staff and education for the staff regarding wound care. Interacts with providers and clinical staff to facilitate the effective protocols regarding wound care plans. Acts in a professional manner positively represents Philip Health Services, Inc., and pursues opportunities for personal growth.
Qualifications/Education:
- Registered Nurse with a current license in South Dakota is required, BSN is preferred.
- Self-directed
- Flexibility in working 24 hours per week
- Certified and up to date in Basic Life Support
- Certified and up to date in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Must be able to communicate effectively with providers and all levels of Philip Health Services, Inc. staff
Experience:
- One year experience providing specialized treatments in long term care setting is preferred.
- Experience with computerized health information systems is required. Knowledge of EPIC is strongly preferred. Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
