The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in maintaining high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing team. The RN assesses patient needs, ensures timely emergency care, supervises nursing staff, and communicates effectively with physicians and supervisors. This role requires sound clinical judgment, leadership, and the ability to respond quickly in critical situations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care and demonstrate strong clinical nursing skills
Supervise LPNs, aides, and ancillary staff as needed.
Monitor and evaluate patient conditions and report changes promptly.
Maintain nursing care standards in compliance with the Kentucky Board of Nursing
Function as a charge nurse when assigned, overseeing total nursing care on designated units.
Ensure smooth coordination and communication within the nursing team.
Seek guidance from clinical or supervisory nurses when appropriate.
Perform duties consistent with the facility’s objectives and nursing philosophy
Maintain a current RN license and present credentials as requested.
Participate in orientation and staff development programs.
Accept assignments only within your scope of competence.
Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and the Kentucky Nursing Practice Act
Notify AMS Healthcare Staffing of any issues or concerns.
Practice safely, ethically, and within professional guidelines.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Experience: New nurses welcome
Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and use proper body mechanics
Supervision: May oversee RNs, LPNs, or nursing assistants
Other: Must pass a drug screen
