Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in New Castle, CO is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a contract position working 7 on/7 off night shifts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, effective medication use within a hospital inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting medication orders and maintaining accurate puterized patient medication profiles
  • pounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
  • plying with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and maintaining controlled substance records
  • Monitoring drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and effectiveness
  • Performing pharmacokinetic drug dosing following hospital protocols
  • Reviewing culture and sensitivity data to optimize antibiotic therapy
  • Detecting and reporting adverse drug reactions promptly
  • Supporting formulary management and promoting cost-effective therapeutic alternatives
  • Providing clinical consultation and drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and families
  • Documenting clinical activities and participating in medication review and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contributing to staff education programs and participating in the Code Response Team

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
  • Current pharmacy license in the state of Colorado
  • BLS and ACLS certification by the American Heart Association
