We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Drainage Designer/Engineer In Training (EIT) in our Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop and build their personal knowledge and skills to assist with the growth and success of the office. Job Description:
Design municipal and state projects for streets/highways/freeways involving roadway, drainage, utilities, and traffic engineering. Ability to function as a project engineer and understand all aspects of design and plan production. Preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and project plans.
Self-motivated, technically proficient, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and is team-oriented. Travel periodically within Arizona and neighboring states, while being physically capable of performing fieldwork.
Primary Job Duties:
- Review and interpretation of hydrology and hydraulic reports
- Review, interpretation, and understanding of design codes
- Development of hydrology and hydraulic models
- Using available open source software and tools to perform geographic information analysis
- Establish and maintain schedules and offer progress reports on work performed
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
- Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
- Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain in 6 months of hire
- Minimum entry level
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/Openroads
- Project Wise experience is a plus
- InRoads and Civil 3D experience a plus
- Experience using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, QGIS, Python a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Must have solid skills in the following areas: planning and scheduling; organization; problem-solving; and decision making
- Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
