• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Acute Inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Duration: 4 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 12/8/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7a–7p)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100–$2250
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
• Floating: Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team
• Documentation System: EPIC (recent experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York RN license preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing
• Recent EPIC documentation experience (within past 2 years)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS (NIHSS required prior to start)
• Proficient in starting IVs, managing cardiac and insulin drips, and caring for post-cardiac cath patients
• Strong clinical skills in acute coronary syndrome, cardiac monitoring, and advanced therapies
• Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the cardiac stepdown/progressive care unit
• Monitor and manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-cardiac procedures, and complex cardiac conditions
• Administer and titrate cardiac, inotropic, vasodilator, antiarrhythmic, and insulin drips
• Perform EKGs, start IVs, and provide advanced cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory and anesthesia support
• Float to other appropriate units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
• Maintain professional standards and adhere to facility dress code
