Summary of Position
The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining CNC machines to OEM standards. This includes monitoring machine health, completing preventative maintenance, participating in TPM events, and providing detailed reports on work orders.
Essential Functions
This list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Replace spindles when needed
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PMs) on schedule
- Maintain all systems on CNC machines
- Troubleshoot and service chiller systems, A/C systems, and hydraulic systems
- Rebuild rotary heads and gearboxes
- Square up and realign 5-axis CNC machines
- Provide detailed repair reports and documentation
- Research technical issues with machine manufacturers as needed
- Adhere to the 6S system and safety standards
Required Skills, Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment
- 6+ months of scheduling and reporting experience
- Strong problem-solving skills in a machine shop environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must meet Export Control Compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (per 22 C.F.R.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read machine schematics and blueprints
- Ability to follow and give written and verbal instructions
- Excellent safety record and training background
- Ability to anticipate technical and machining problems
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends
- Experience in:
- Automated controls
- Electrical and electronic principles
- CMMS programs
- Preventative maintenance procedures
- Industrial electrical systems and PC literacy
- Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance (preferred, not required)
