Pay Range: $100,000.00 To $150,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

Pridestaff is seeking an enthusiastic Mid-Level Software Developer to join our client, an innovative D.C. technology firm, on a direct-hire basis. This role is ideal for a talented engineer ready to significantly contribute to the development and scaling of cutting-edge web applications and core backend services. You will be instrumental in turning high-level requirements into functional, well-tested code within a modern, collaborative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain features across the full application stack using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code that adheres to team standards and best practices.
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to technical discussions.
• Collaborate with senior developers and architects to refine requirements and translate them into detailed design specifications.
• Support the deployment pipeline by contributing to CI/CD automation and troubleshooting application issues in staging and production environments.
• Maintain and optimize database interactions, ensuring data integrity and query performance.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of performance improvements and bug fixes throughout the application lifecycle.
• Work effectively within an Agile/Scrum team structure, participating in sprint planning and daily stand-ups.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in software development or software engineering.
• Core Languages: Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Full-Stack Familiarity: Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Cloud Fundamentals: Basic working knowledge of a major cloud provider, such as AWS or Azure.
• DevOps Tools: Familiarity with version control (Git) and containerization (Docker). Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Databases: Solid understanding of database principles and experience with either SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating an ability to work effectively in a team-centric environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and optimizing RESTful APIs or working with microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Prior experience working in the Data Analytics, FinTech, or Cyber Security domains.
