Posting Specifics

  • Starting Pay: $38.77+ (based on experience)

  • Hours: PRN (as needed)

  • Shift Details: PRN - Fluctuating shift-based department needs

  • Additional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends

Essential Functions

  • ​Ensure accurate patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for MRI procedures.

  • Perform MRI exams in accordance with department protocols and physician orders.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy and anatomical positioning.

  • Critique images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy.

  • Complete studies within established timeframes while maintaining high standards of patient care.

  • Collaborate with radiologists to select appropriate scanning techniques and protocols.

  • Understand and follow protocols related to contrast administration; administer IV contrast under physician or radiologist supervision as required.

  • Operate MRI equipment and related information systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

  • View, transfer, archive, and manipulate images using electronic imaging systems.

  • Maintain working knowledge of MRI system components, including magnets, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and associated hardware/software.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification in MRI through ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
    – OR –
    ARRT(R) certification with a minimum of one year of full-time MRI experience

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • 1–2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist

Physical Requirements:

  • Ongoing need for employees to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.
