Job Description

This position involves mechanical maintenance with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues on various machines. The equipment includes bearing machines, wire cutting machines, shape enders, centerless grinders, and motor repairs. A significant part of the role involves rebuilding gear boxes. The successful candidate will work extensively on hydraulic pumps and various types of motors. This role is predominantly mechanical, with minimal electrical work, which involves identifying what is 'hot' and what to avoid touching. The responsibilities are divided into 75% preventive maintenance, 15% reactive maintenance, and 10% project-based tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on machines.
• Work with bearing machines, wire cutting machines, shape enders, centerless grinders, and motors.
• Rebuild gear boxes regularly.
• Read and understand manuals to replace parts or bearings on machines.
• Perform maintenance on hydraulic pumps and various motors.
• Identify electrical hazards and avoid them.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (75%), reactive maintenance (15%), and project-based tasks (10%).

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in maintenance technician, maintenance mechanic, and industrial maintenance.
• Skills in hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Mechanical and basic electrical abilities.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and perform mechanical repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Own basic hand tools and a toolbox.
• Three years of mechanical repair experience, specifically on pumps or pneumatic components.
• Previous preventive maintenance experience, such as greasing bearings.
• Ability to read a blueprint or manual.
• Ability to change out a motor.
• Electrical and wastewater experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is located at Plant 1. Training will be on day shifts for up to two months, depending on progress. Day shift hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM. Once training is complete, the shift will move to 3 PM to 11 PM, with a $1/hr shift premium. The company provides ample opportunity for overtime work, allowing employees to maximize their hours as desired.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
