We have an immediate need for a locum Gastroenterology Physician to provide gastroenterology services for our veteran population at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Rochester, NY. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the beauty of upstate New York.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures such as:
Colonoscopy
o Colonoscopy via colostomy
o Colonoscopy w/biopsy(ies)
o Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion
o Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique
o Colonoscopy w/out biopsy
o Colonoscopy w/ submucosal
o Colonoscopy control of bleeding
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
o EGD diagnostic
o EGD w/biopsy(ies)
o EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique
o EGD control of bleeding
o EDG esophageal dilation
Surgical Procedures
o Flexible sigmoidoscopy with biopsy/snare/ablation/control of bleeding
o PEG tub replacement
Provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
BC/BE:
Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and be Board Certified /Board Eligible Internal Medicine with a Subspecialty in Gastroenterology Physician Services by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
Hours & Schedule:
Standard Administrative Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am 4:00pm (excluding federal holidays).
Specific clinic times to be identified upon start of assignment
On-call hours required
Items Required for Submission:
Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school- written explanations are accepted
One active, unrestricted Medical License in any state
Current DEA
BLS- American Heart Association (AHA) required
ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
Proof of BC/BE
