Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Job Overview:

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Medical-Surgical experience for a travel contract. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience and is comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in Medical-Surgical unit
• Manage cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams effectively
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway devices
• Follow isolation precautions and participate in unit-based clinical education

Requirements & Qualifications:

• License: Active RN license required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year Medical-Surgical experience; previous charge experience preferred
• Charting System: Epic
• Certifications: AHA BLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Work Settings: MS/Telemetry, Cardiac monitoring
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Schedule & Staffing:

• 36- or 36/48-hour rotation, or an alternative schedule based on client needs
• Nights: 1:6 patient ratio
• Days: 1:6 patient ratio
• Weekends: 1:6 patient ratio, every other weekend
• Float and call coverage required

Additional Notes:

• Hospital may cancel shifts biweekly without penalty if census decreases
• Additional overtime shifts may be assigned based on patient census

• Beds: 39
• Daily Census: 28
• Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary

Travel Requirements:

• Must reside >100 miles from hospital(based on ZIP code on driver’s license)
