American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a float pool PCU/Progressive Care Unit position requiring a KS or compact RN license, at least 2 years of recent specialty experience, and availability for night shifts across multiple med/surg intermediate and PCU departments.

- Float pool position — will not be assigned a home unit; floats between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as needed \n
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM \n
- Patient ratio of 1:5 \n
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, any combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday \n
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, renal, sepsis, GI bleed, stroke, AFIB, wound care, ETOH, SI, and COVID cases \n
- Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath care \n
- Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management \n
- Equipment used includes Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell \n
- Charge RN assignments required as needed per unit \n
- No on-call requirements \n
- Block scheduling is not available \n

- Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri, or a compact RN license, must be in hand at time of consideration — floating between facilities in both states may be required \n
- Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) \n
- Preferred certification: ACLS \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/progressive care specialty experience required \n
- Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year \n
- Experience in med/surg telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown settings required \n
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year \n
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible \n

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are not accepted \n
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract \n
- Holiday shift coverage is required as needed per unit \n
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position \n
- Completion of onboarding modules (approximately 10–15 hours) is required prior to the start date \n
- No more than 7 days of requested time off will be approved \n
