CNC Machinist - 1st Shift - Keokuk, IA

Position Overview

We’re seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team specializing in high-quality metal components. In this hands-on role, you’ll use advanced CNC equipment and measuring tools to produce precision parts that meet exacting specifications. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented problem solvers with a passion for craftsmanship, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment to meet production goals and quality standards.

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineered drawings to determine machining requirements.

• Inspect and measure parts throughout the manufacturing process to ensure dimensional accuracy and material compliance.

• Conduct final inspections and prepare components for packaging and shipment.

• Complete quality inspection documentation for each work order.

• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to clarify requirements and review project details.

• Support the preparation of customer quotes (RFQs) and progress updates (WIP).

• Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Tools & Equipment Used

Haas CNC mills, precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks), Faro Arm, and general shop tools.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily shop-based role.

• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

• Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.

• Shop uniform or protective attire required.

Qualifications

Education & Training

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Certificate or associate degree in Machine Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.

• Valid driver’s license required.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming and operation experience.

• Experience machining metals such as steel, stainless steel, bronze, or cast materials.

• Familiarity with Mazak CNC systems preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience using precision measuring tools in a manufacturing or similar environment.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in reading and writing CNC programs (G-Code and M-Code).

• Skilled in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD/CAM software.

• Strong knowledge of geometry, tolerances, and dimensional conversions.

• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety standards.
