What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
You will serve as the financial bridge for our patients, managing all aspects of the billing and coverage process to ensure seamless care. Your key responsibilities include:
  • Secure Authorization & Verification: Promptly obtain and track all required prior authorizations and referrals from specific payers before treatments and visits.
  • Determine Financial Eligibility: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of self-pay patients and those prescribed non-reimbursable drugs to identify eligibility for financial assistance programs, drug reimbursement policies, and Medical Assistance.
  • Patient Counseling: Meet with patients and their families to thoroughly explain financial obligations using the Summary of Patient Reimbursement and Liability Form, securing necessary approvals prior to service delivery.
  • Process Management: Initiate Financial Assessment Applications for patients without adequate coverage and collaborate with the billing department to resolve complex or open insurance claims.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running, bringing both technical expertise and essential soft skills.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of professional work experience, preferably within a medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in word processing and computer applications (EPIC experience strongly preferred).
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with third-party payer rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of credit and collections laws.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to effectively resolve issues and counsel patients.
