Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where you will be the welcoming face of our practice! In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. You will handle scheduling, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Your exceptional organizational skills and friendly demeanor will help create a positive atmosphere for both patients and staff.
What you’ll do
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process to ensure a seamless experience.
- Manage appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance information and perform insurance authorization processes to facilitate patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process medical billing and coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10 codes for efficient claims submission.
- Review care plans and assist in the preparation of patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence to keep the office organized.
Experience
- Prior experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative role is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing processes.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are required for effective office management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction are necessary to thrive in this role.
- Previous clinic or hospital experience is preferred to navigate the fast-paced healthcare environment effectively.
- High School Diploma(or equivalent) is required.
- Ability to Maintain HIPPA and Strict Confidentiality Guidelines is required.
