Job Description
The Business Development Representative at RWE Design Build is a crucial entry-point for driving sales growth by generating new business opportunities within the animal health construction sector in the Tampa Bay area & throughout Florida. This position focuses on identifying & qualifying potential clients, building the top of the sales pipeline, & ultimately scheduling meetings for senior sales staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented communicator with a passion for both the construction & animal health industries.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead generation & market research:
● Targeted prospecting: Research & identify potential clients, including veterinary practice owners, hospital administrators, & investment groups involved in veterinary real estate.
● Market analysis: Stay current on animal health market trends, such as the growth of specialty veterinary hospitals, regulatory changes, or new veterinary practice ownership models.
● Competitor analysis: Monitor competing design-build firms to understand their projects, marketing strategies, & potential gaps in the market.
● Lead lists: Create & maintain targeted prospect lists based on ideal customer profiles (ICPs) for different construction project types (e.g., ground-up facilities, renovations, clinic expansions).
2. Outreach & initial contact:
● Multi-channel outreach: Execute outbound campaigns via phone (cold calling), email, & professional social media platforms like LinkedIn to generate interest.
● Compelling messaging: Craft & personalize email & social media messaging that highlights the company's value proposition & expertise in animal health construction.
● Initial qualification: Conduct introductory calls to qualify leads based on standard criteria, such as budget, authority, need, & timeline (BANT).
● Follow-up: Nurture potential leads with timely follow-up communications to move them through the early stages of the sales pipeline.
3. Relationship building & coordination:
● Internal collaboration: Work closely with senior sales staff, estimators, & project managers to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads.
● External networking: Attend relevant industry events, such as veterinary trade shows, to build professional relationships.
● Customer liaison: Act as the initial point of contact, ensuring a positive first impression & clear communication with prospective clients.
4. Sales process & reporting:
● CRM management: Accurately track all sales activities, including communications, lead status, & progress, using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
● Meeting scheduling: Set appointments & meetings for senior sales staff with qualified prospects.
● Pipeline reporting: Assist in preparing & presenting reports on lead generation activities & pipeline health to management.
Requirements
● Proficiency with CRM software (Zoho) & Google Suite.
● Familiarity with sales & marketing automation tools.
● Basic understanding of the design-build construction process.
● Strong communication: Exceptional written & verbal communication abilities are crucial for successful outreach & relationship building.
● Resilience & persistence: The ability to handle rejection & remain motivated is critical for success in outbound prospecting.
