Job Description
Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator – Environmental Remediation (CDL Required)

Department: Field Operations
Reports To: Crew Leader / Project Manager / Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Operate heavy equipment and CDL vehicles to support environmental cleanup and construction projects. Tasks include excavation, grading, site preparation, and transporting equipment and materials. Follow all safety, DOT, and environmental rules. This is a full-time position with steady hours and long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, loader, dozer, skid steer) for cleanup and construction work.
  • Perform excavation, demolition, grading, and site prep safely and efficiently.
  • Transport equipment and materials between job sites using CDL vehicles.
  • Complete basic equipment maintenance and follow safety protocols.
  • Work outdoors in all weather; expect overtime and extended hours when needed.
MUST HAVES (We will only move forward if you have the following):
  • Valid Class A CDL and heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Ability to travel regionally and cross state lines.
  • Experience with backhoes and general equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Oilfield, roustabout, or environmental cleanup experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, workplace safety, and hand/power tools.
  • Able to lift 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Pass MVR, background check, and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • PAY IS BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCE AS AN OPERATOR AND HAVING A VALID CDL CLASS A LICENSE IN GOOD STANDING
Working Conditions
  • Outdoor work in all weather and terrain.
  • Exposure to soil, dust, noise, and hazardous materials.
  • Frequent standing, climbing, bending, lifting (up to 75 lbs).
  • Must safely enter/exit equipment and vehicles multiple times daily.
