We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS, Python, Flask, Terraform, and the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). You will automate deployment pipelines, manage infrastructure as code, and support mission-critical services for defense and intelligence clients. Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, and Bash or Shell scripting, as well as hands-on experience in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, is required. This hands-on role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about cloud-native architectures, automation, and security in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Must possess a TS/SCI federal security clearance. US citizenship is required
Required Skills:
- Design and deploy cloud solutions using AWS
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement infrastructure-as-code
- Support the management and monitoring of cloud resources
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues
- Contribute to documentation of cloud architectures and best practices
- Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and trends
- Assist in ensuring compliance with security and operational standards
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC, with a solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security fundamentals
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments and configuration management
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to troubleshoot cloud environments, document best practices, and work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell scripting
- Experience with Flask for backend development
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK
- Strong understanding of core AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (IAM, Networking, Security Groups)
- Experience working in Linux environments and using Linux commands
- Proficiency with Git version control
- Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., subnets, routing, security groups)
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (preferably using Jenkins)
- Knowledge of web servers such as Apache HTTPD and Nginx is a plus
- Experience with ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS integration is desirable
- Familiarity with REST API integration and front-end technologies such as React/JavaScript is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
