Illinois Healthcare Job Details

• Location: Galesburg, Illinois (zip 61401) – Illinois nursing jobs
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital – Telemetry Intermediate (Stepdown)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990–$2130
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Unit Size: 26 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in progress
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry, stepdown, or similar unit
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Experience with cardiac and respiratory diagnoses: CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, syncope
• Must pass a drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the telemetry intermediate (stepdown) unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and administer medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin
• Operate respiratory support equipment: Bipap, Cpap, HF/Vapotherm
• Collaborate with hospitalists, advanced practice nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Document patient care and progress using Epic EMR
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff
• Comply with hospital policies, including floating and weekend/holiday requirements
