About this job
Job Description
A high-volume Interventional Pain Medicine practice is adding a physician who wants to stay focused on procedures. The practice is fully interventional, with no chronic opioid management, strong operational support, and immediate procedural volume. There is also a clear path to ownership for someone looking to build a long-term practice.
Practice Overview
- You'll join a long-established outpatient interventional pain practice with a primary hub in New Iberia and a companion site nearby
- ASC-oriented, high-throughput model with dedicated fluoroscopy suites, ultrasound capability, and on-site imaging support
- Procedures include ESI/transforaminals, RFA, kyphoplasty/vertebral augmentation, MILD, SCS (trial/perm), joint/peripheral nerve injections, and select biologics
- No inpatient responsibilities and no chronic opioid management panel-your focus stays procedural
Schedule
- Approximately 40 hours/week with flexibility in how clinic and procedural time are structured
- Typical mix trends heavily procedural (often 4-5 procedure days/week) with limited clinic time as needed
- Strong existing volume (approximately 60-70 procedures/week) with a growth plan toward significantly higher throughput as you ramp up
- Call is limited: primary call only a few months per year, with PA back-up call coverage in rotation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary starting at 450,000 with meaningful upside through production (targeting 600,000+ for high producers)
- Production bonus: 30% of physician net revenue above 750,000
- 30,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated repayment if departing within 3 years)
- 15 business days PTO + 6 paid holidays, 5,000 CME allowance, employer-paid malpractice with tail, and standard health/retirement benefits
Candidate Requirements
- MD/DO with training in Anesthesiology or PM&R and completion of an ACGME-accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship
- Comfortable as an efficient proceduralist in an ASC-style setting with anesthesia support available for advanced cases
- Louisiana license (or ability to obtain) and DEA eligibility required
- Interest in helping expand procedural offerings and participating in operational improvements (including EMR selection/implementation)
Community & Location Highlights
- Live in a bayou community with a lower cost of living and easy access to Lafayette's metro amenities about 30 minutes away
- Outdoor recreation is close by-fishing, hunting, and weekend getaways across South Louisiana
- Strong mix of public and private school options in the region, plus a university hub nearby
- Regional airport access in Lafayette and straightforward drives to Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lake Charles, and Houston
