HOT JOB: DUAL CT & X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST – 5x8 EVENINGS/NIGHTS (SANTA CRUZ, CA)

I am fast-tracking applications for a highly competent, dual-modality CT & X-Ray Technologist to anchor a high-volume acute care imaging service line on the scenic California coast. This 13-week contract features an immediate review pipeline, zero mandatory weekend constraints outside standard rotation, and a premium evening framework.

  • Shift Schedule: 8-Hour Evening Shifts | Flexibility required to occasionally fill in on Night shifts as department volume dictates.

  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours weekly
  • \n
  • Weekend & Holiday Policy: Integrated directly into the permanent unit weekend and holiday coverage rotation. Weekend and holiday shifts reflect the standard evening/night hours.

  • On-Call Mandate: On-call shifts are required; specific standby frequency and deployment expectations will be finalized during your interview.
  • \n
  • Systems & Charting: Cerner EMR integrated with McKesson PACS.
  • \n
  • Dress Code: Solid Teal scrubs (traveler provided).
  • \n
THE CLINICAL MATRIX\n
    \n
  • The Environment: A fast-paced, high-acuity diagnostic department operating two primary scanners: a Siemens Sensation 64 and a GE 16 Light Speed.
  • \n
  • Patient Census: Average of 10 to 20 scans per shift. Evening shifts represent the peak volume window for the department.
  • \n
  • Clinical Mix: Manage a diverse caseload encompassing standard Emergency Room (ER) trauma scans, virtual colonography studies, and cardiac/gated imaging protocols.
  • \n
  • Physician Support: An on-site Radiologist is not available 24/7. The department seamlessly transitions to Nighthawk remote teleradiology reading services for the late-night and overnight windows.
  • \n
  • Float Pool Scope: Must be fully flexible to float across the broader Radiology department footprint based on active census demands.
  • \n
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)\n
    \n
  • Experience Baseline [NON-NEGOTIABLE]: Minimum 2 years of current acute care experience as a dual-modality tech. Hands-on, independent competency in both CT and X-Ray modalities is strictly required.
  • \n
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted California (CA) Radiologic Technologist License and a CA Fluoroscopy Permit must be completely active and in-hand at the time of submission [HARDSTOP].

  • Registries & Certifications:\n

    • Active ARRT Radiography registration (ARRT (R)) with official primary source verification.
    • \n
    • Active ARRT Computed Tomography registration (ARRT (CT)) with official primary source verification.
    • \n
    • Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
