Position Summary
This role involves the independent operation of CT imaging equipment and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services in accordance with departmental protocols and Radiologist directives. The Technologist is responsible for patient preparation, positioning, contrast administration, image acquisition, and digital record management, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Preparation: Screen patients for allergies and pertinent medical history; position and transfer patients using safe lifting and immobilization techniques; intravenously administer contrast media as protocolled.
- Imaging & Documentation: Operate CT equipment, perform image capture and digital storage/transfer, and ensure all studies are properly recorded for permanent files.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct daily equipment calibration and quality control; maintain image quality standards; coordinate equipment repair as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Apply radiation safety protocols per Michigan Department of Public Health regulations; monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond to medical emergencies, including CPR administration.
- Operational Support: Organize daily patient schedules; maintain inventory and cleanliness of the work environment; assist Radiologists and physicians with specialized procedures; provide training to new personnel as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in departmental quality assessment initiatives, data collection, and implementation of action plans to support ongoing performance improvement.
Required Credentials
ARRT Certification (Required)
BLS-AHA Certification (Required)
Minimum Experience : 2+ years in X-Ray or CT
Travel Experience: (Preferred)
