Adelphi is seeking a licensed Medical Director to oversee and provide medical leadership within a secured correctional healthcare setting in DuPage County, Illinois. Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Illinois Medical License (MD or DO)
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or related specialty
- DEA license and controlled substance registration
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, including supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of NCCHC and ACA standards and correctional healthcare practices Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience providing medical oversight in correctional, institutional, or public health environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate interdisciplinary healthcare delivery
- Experience in developing clinical protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior clinical authority for all medical services within the facility
- Provide clinical oversight, direction, and evaluation of physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff
- Review and approve policies, procedures, and treatment protocols to ensure compliance with standards of care
- Conduct patient consultations and provide direct care when required
- Supervise the medical aspects of intake screening, chronic disease management, and emergency response
- Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and morbidity/mortality reviews
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to ensure adequate staffing, resource utilization, and training
