Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Tupelo, MS 38801
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Dates: December 3, 2025 or December 17, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3-1-3 or 6 on/8 off (details provided at contract start)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (5C), 16 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:4
• EMR: Epic
• Floating: Required to other stepdown units as needed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Mississippi RN license (Registered Nurse)
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or stepdown nursing jobs
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia tests (80% or higher)
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays (must be available for Christmas Eve/Day and New Year's Eve/Day)
• Willingness to float to other units within competency
• Compliance documentation due 7 days prior to start date
• No perm or per diem work at facility in past 12 months

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR
• Float to other stepdown units as required
• Maintain flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
