RNs are generally responsible for monitoring patients while RT manages respiratory equipment and treatments.

  • Centralized Monitor Technician located on Level 5 monitors telemetry.

  • Monitor Tech notifies nursing staff of rhythm changes.
  • \n
  • RNs are not required to independently interpret telemetry strips.

    • Two weeks on days

    • No switching between day and night shifts within the same week
