Med Surg / Intermediate Care RN

Experience: 1–2 years required
Unit Size: 46 beds

• 40 Acute Med Surg beds
\n
• 6 Intermediate Care beds
\n

Patient Ratios\n

\n
• Days: 1:5–6
\n
• Nights: 1:6–7
\n

Required Certifications\n

\n
• BLS
\n
• ACLS
\n

Floating\n

Traveler will float as needed to:

\n

\n
• Surge Unit
\n
• Emergency Department
\n

\n

Floating is specifically to care for Med Surg patients who are unable to transfer to the Med Surg floor.

\n

 

Weekends & Holidays\n

\n
• Based on unit needs
\n
• Every other weekend at most
\n
• Holiday scheduling based on department needs
\n

Unit Support\n

\n
• Dedicated admission/discharge RN
\n
• Patient ambulator
\n
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
\n
• Security on-site 24/7
\n
• No IV team
\n
• No dedicated Rapid Response Team
\n

\n

Strong fit for a Med Surg RN comfortable with ratios up to 1:6, intermediate-care patients, and floating to overflow areas while maintaining a Med Surg assignment.
