Job Description
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to cover a 3-month leave of absence within a K-12 school setting located in Clam Gulch, AK. This contract role requires supporting students across 2-3 school sites, including Homer, Central, and Southern locations, providing targeted speech and language services to meet individual student needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and delivering direct speech-language therapy to K-12 students
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and education staff to support student progress
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation as required by state and district policies
- Participating in meetings and providing professional recommendations related to speech and language goals
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Alaska
- Type C Special Services Certification (valid for 2 years) required
- Experience working in school environments with K-12 student populations preferred
- Ability to manage caseloads across multiple school sites efficiently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
